Studies rank Pittsburgh as one of the "smartest" cities


The evidence is totally irrefutable, I'm sure.

From the Post Gazette - "The research looked at the 100 most populous cities and ranked them on six criteria: universities and colleges per person, libraries per person, education level, media outlets per person, museums per person, and public school rank according to GreatSchools.org."

Pittsburgh 4th best in “Wallet Wellness”

Pittsburgh ranked No. 4 on Cardhub.com's 2013 rankings for Best & Worst Cities for Wallet Wellness, primarily because it ranks in the Top 3 nationally in terms of average income adjusted for cost of living as well as housing affordability and rate of job growth. The top three cities are Minneapolis, Houston and Dallas.

Pittsburgh, once industrial, now chic | National Post

Very nice article by Margaret Swaine, a Special Correspondent to the National Post (first time I think I've ever heard Pittsburgh called "chic" though). I saw in the comments below the article someone mentioning the overabundance of cloudy days in Pittsburgh. I've been back 16 years now, I just don't get that impression at all, the weather seems very balanced.
